Director’s Statement
The team at Webscribe
has accumulated over 40 years experience in the subscriptions
industry and through that time I believe that between us we
have come across almost every subscription operation problem
and solution.
We understand that we
are representatives of our publishers and, in many cases, the
only contact the subscriber has with the publication and we
appreciate the responsibility that gives us. I am very proud
of the high quality of service that our publishers and their
subscribers have come to expect of us and constantly strive to
keep it that way.
Our bureau staff are the
backbone of SubCARE and I believe among the best in the
business. Our operation sees the subscription from the very
beginning of the process and taking the order, right through
until the magazine hits the doorstep and our renewals program
produces an overall 78% rate of response. We help our
publishers to grow their subscriber base and help them to use
the information we can provide to their advantage.
We recently have been
able to open up the benefits of the Direct Debit scheme to our
client base.
Many of our smaller
publishers would not generate the required transaction volumes
to be eligible for the Direct Debit scheme. As a group
however, it is possible for these titles to compete with large
publication houses when offering Direct Debit incentives.
Much of 2006/2007 was
taken up with the development of mysubcare.com. Taking over
from its predecessor, webscribe.co.uk, the site has not only
received a much-needed facelift but also has become a platform
for new ideas and opportunities.
As before, the new and
renewal subscription orders are processed from our site
immediately updating our database without any intervention
from our staff; our subscribers can view their subscription
account on screen at any time along with information about the
magazine’s current and next issue. Over the years our online
presence has opened our subscriptions service 24-7 appealing
greatly to overseas markets.
Now for the first time,
subscribers can pay online by Direct Debit in addition to the
existing online credit/debit authorisation.
They can also order
their subscription with back issues and merchandise all in one
shopping basket. For publishers, this additional facility
provides excellent cross-selling opportunities to their
subscription list giving that ever-elusive extra revenue
stream.

As for the future, I am
looking forward to the developments we have in place over the
coming months and the positive effects they will have for our
publishers.
And throughout, our
goals remains the same - to provide new, exciting, innovative
ways for our publishers to get the most from their subscribers.
